Symbols of contrasting Cuyuna change.

A Christmas tree proudly shines in the foreground of the rubble of the former automobile dealership. The rubble of the past, paving the way for a bright future. For Sale.

For Rent.

Closeout Sale.

Everything must go.

Building torn down.

If you were to look at the (5) above statements I don't think the word "progress" would come to mind. Yet, in the case of the Cuyuna Lakes I can't find a better word to describe what is happening in the cities of Crosby, Ironton, Cuyuna, Riverton and Deerwood.

If there were ever a moment, an opportunity to risk, now would be the time. For those of my generation, the 30 somethings, this is your time to risk it all. Stop saying "what if someone were to X and X" and instead say "what if I were to do X and X."

The City of Crosby needs a coffee shop, it will work, if done properly. Who's going to take on that risk now, and in the future be the happy business owner that did?

A city of change, a community of change, will you be part of the change?

Imagine we are currently in the year 2042. Looking back to today what do you need to do in order to have a different story then.

Do it.

Aaron... I couldn't agree with you more, but it is a huge risk for a young person (or anyone) to take on. I truly believe that we will see a major transformation of our communities in the next 2-3 years brought about by our awesome mountain bike trails and outdoor recreation opportunities. I believe that new business will be filling our vacant buildings downtown, but I expect most of those will be new arrivals moving to our area. I hope we are correct in our optimistic views!
